Common Questions
*How long will it take to build my enclosure?
The construction of your new enclosure / structure can take up to a week, but normally takes much less. Permitting for the enclosure is what takes the most time, normally taking about 3. So from the day you sign a contract with us to the completion of the construction of your enclosure normally ranges between 2 and 4 weeks.
*How does the process getting started?
Once you choose Outdoor Odyssey to construct your new structure, we will setup a time to meet with you and have you sign a contract, collect the deposit, and obtain a copy of your boundary survey needed for permitting. Once the contract is in our hands it usually takes about a week to get the permit submitted.
*What type of screen do you use in the construction and repair of your structures?
We use a fiberglass mesh screen manufactored by New York Wire. Information about the company and the screen can be found here http://www.newyorkwire.com/pool/pool.html.
*How long does new screen last?
Typically fiberglass wire mesh will last anywhere from 5 to 10 years, normally closer to 6. With the FLorida sun beating down on the screen, the protective coating wears off easiy and once the fiberglass is exposed the screen will tear easily.
*What wind resistance are your structures engineered for?
Screen enclosures and sun rooms are engineered to withstand at least 120 mph winds, but more in other areas dictated by the State of Florida. The map below shows the wind zone regions.
